Panchuka begins in Odisha; Five Most Auspicious Days of Month 'Kartika'

Puri: November 19: ‘Panchuka Vrata’ began from today. Devotees from different parts of the state reached Puri to observe Panchuka Vrata.

The last five days’ of the Kartika Month is considered highly auspicious and is known as ‘Panchuka’. Panchuka starts on Bodhini Ekadasi and ends on Kartika Purnima. As per the belief, devotees who missed Kartika Vrata, perform Panchuka Vrata.

Lord Shree Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Sudarshana are dressed in five different veshas (attires) each day during Panchuka.

Thousands of Devotees thronged to Shree Jagannath Temple to have a darshan of the Holy Trinity on the occasion of Panchuka.

Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has made elaborate arrangements for the devotees as they can have hassle-free darshan of the deities.

15 Platoons of Police force have been deployed in and around the Temple to manage the crowd.
