Bhubaneswar: September 12:Dr. R.P.Sharma, DGP visited the naxalite affected areas in Barakhama under Baliguda Sub-Division of Kandhamal District today i.e on 12.9.2017. He reviewed the ongoing anti Naxal operations in the area in light of the recent encounter between CPI (Maoist) and the SOG on 10.09.2017. He instructed all the officers present there to conduct more joint operations in the area. DGP also emphasized on the need for a co-ordinated and aggressive strategy to neutralize the CPI (Maoist). Dr. Sharma, DGP also visited the CRPF locations and reviewed the infrastructure facilities. DGP also met the SOG Commandos who had participated in the operations on 10.09.2017 to get first hand information on the encounter and to chalk out future operational strategy.
Sh. Sunil Roy, Director (Intelligence), Sh. R.P.Koche, IGP (Operations), Sh. Ghanashyam Upadhaya IGP (Southern Range), Berhampur, Sh. Narasingha Bhol, DIGP(SIW), Bhubaneswar, Sh. Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, SP, Kandhamal, Commandant, SOG, and officers from CRPF and District Police were present during this review programme.
