Disaster Management Institution in State soon

Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: An institution to impart training for disaster management will be set up in State soon, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Thursday. 

The centre will be set up in 17-acre land at the premises of Revenue officers’’ training Institute located in Gothapatna in the state capital at a cost of Rs 20 crore, he said at a meeting. 

 A corpus fund of Rs 10 crore will also be formed by the government for its management. 

The ODRAF and Fire brigade personnel will be provided training to handle the situation after natural disasters. 

Besides, the training will also be imparted to other employees of various industries and locals about the disaster management. The experts in the disaster management will provide the training. 

Patnaik advised the officials to make the institute of international standard. 

Revenue Minister Bijayshree Routray, Chief Secretary AP Padhi, CM’s Additional Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner and Special Relief Commissioner were present at the meeting.
