Bhubaneswar, July 14: After the visit of National Commission for Schedule Tribe’s (NCST) Chairman, Shri Rameswar Oraon, National Commission for Scheduled caste’s (NCSC) Chairman, Dr PL Punia would make a visit to Kandhamal district on Thursday to investigate the incident of cross firing between Security personnel and Maoists which took six innocent tribal lives inside the Malapanga forest.
Dr Punia would arrive at Biju Patnaik International airport at 9:15 AM in Bhubaneswar and proceed by road to Kandhamal district headquarters. Before returning to Bhubaneswar he will meet the SC families of Gumudumaha village. On Friday he would leave for Delhi at 10:15 AM, official sources informed.
After PCC President, Prasad Harichandan and BK Hariprasad, general Secretary of AICC informed about the incident in New Delhi, the visit programme of Dr Punia was finalized.
According to the sources, among the people who had died in that incident three of the deceased, belonged to the Scheduled Caste.
