Cuttack, Apr 18: In an incident where exchange of fire between police and a dreaded criminal took place at Hadipatha area in Cuttack, the later was injured after getting a hit by a bullet in his leg.
The incident that took place on late Monday night injured the criminal, identified as Shaikh Babu, who was was later admitted to the SCB and is currently under treatment under police custody.
Babu’s whereabouts was tipped-off to the police, who then raided the place to nab him. During the raid, he had open fired on the police, and unfortunately the police had to reply back, in which he got hit by a bullet.
Notably, eight cases have been pending against Babu at various police stations in the state. He is a former associate of Big fish Mohammad Sakil and was wanted by the CP since long.
