Drinking water scarcity: locals in Cuttack and Jharsuguda, Odisha block road and stage dharna

Cuttack/Jharsuguda, May 22: Today locals of Ward-48 in Cuttack staged a dharna ahead of the Public Health Department (PHD) executive engineer’s office thus protesting water crisis. They shouted slogans and demanded immediate supply of drinking water in the area.

Likewise, residents of Ward-2 and 11 of Belpahar block in Jharsuguda blocked roads on the National Highway (NH)-49 thus protesting agaisnt the same issue of drinking water crisis in their area. Transportaion also on the Raipur-Chandikhol road was disrupted for a while.
