Durga Puja Vacation- Period of Merry for children

Durga Puja, a festival where not only the elders are enjoying but the kids are also having a merry time with full pleasure.  After the summer vacation, this is the only vacation period where they get a number of days for holiday. After the announcement by the school about the puja vacation, they start planning about to how to spend these few days of vacation. No study, no school tension during these holidays only fun, enjoyment and masti. It’s time to wear new dresses, dress up beautifully and explore the puja bazaar. During this auspicious festival, they get to spend time with their family by going somewhere out of the city, either to their village or native places. Some roam around the city visiting various puja pandals.Some children while asked about their planning for the holidays, said

‘I am planning to visit my uncle’s house who stays in Kolkata. This is the first time I am going to visit Kolkata. I’ll spend my entire puja vacation there. I am all excited as I have heard a lot about Kolkata pujo. So this time I am gonna watch that’ – Pritam Sahoo, class IX, DAV School, Bhubaneswar.

‘I like to spend time with my family in Bhubaneswar. This time Bhubaneswar has got many beautiful huge pandals to look forward to. So every evening I’m going to go out for pandal hopping.  Like every year, I have finished my hopping way long back with my family.  I also like to watch Ravan Podi. So this time also I would go for it with my family’- Amrin Parween, Class X, Prabhujee English Medium School, Bhubaneswar.
