Berhampur, Oct 5: The Sorada Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court Ganjam district court in Ganjam yesterday granted bail to top Maoist leader, Sabyasachi Panda in two cases. However, he would have remained in jail as there are several other cases pending against him. The elusive Red leader was arrested from a house in Bada Bazar area in Berhampur in July 2014. Since then, the 47-year-old founder leader of Odisha Maobadi Party (OMP) is lodged in Berhampur Circle Jail.
Earlier, in April the same court had given bail to Panda on two sureties of Rs 50,000 each as the police failed to submit the charge sheet. Before this he was also acquitted in four cases including two at Berhampur court and one each at Sorada and Nayagarh courts.
