Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Demonetization has affected the excise revenue collection in state as the collection has gone down to Rs 20 crore this year which is much lower than the revenue collected in the previous year, said Bishnupada Sethy, Secretary of Excise department in an information.

On the other side, nearly 40-50% decline in the retail liquor business has also been marked this year.

Keeping in mind about this, online invoicing facility for retailers will be kicked off across the state from April 2017 and the retailers can purchase directly from depots through online, officials of Excise department informed. The service has been kick started today from Chandikhole.

As the sales have gone down due to demonetization, the online service will facilitate digital payment options to retailers and they can get their stock from the depot. No cash transaction would be required for this and it will also help to save time, Sethy informed.
