Kolkata/Bhubaneswar: June 1: Indian Entertainment Industry suffered a great loss. The famous singer, the heart of millions, Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died of cardiac arrest on 31st May. As reported, just after a concert in Kolkata, KK fell ill. He returned to Hotel and collapsed there. Further, he was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute where he was declared dead.
The cause of KK’s death remains unknown so far. He was 53 only. He was a popular playback singer and known for some of Bollywood’s biggest hits like ‘Pal’ and ‘Yaaron’. He has delivered successful songs such as Tadap Tadap (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai (Woh Lamhe), and O Meri Jaan (Life In A… Metro).
He has recorded songs not only in the Hindi language, but also in many other Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Bengali.
Singer KK’s dead body was brought from the hospital to Rabindra Sadan, after his post-mortem. The West Bengal CM and KK’s family members paid their last respects at Rabindra Sadan. A gun salute was also accorded to the popular singer.
After that, the body of the deceased singer has left for the airport. The body will be transported through Air India to Mumbai. KK’s last rites will take place at Versova’s ‘Muktidhaam’ crematorium.
