Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Today the BJP created a hassle on the matter of farmers suicide at the house. It attempted an attack on the BJD and demanded a debate over the issue and also asked for a suspension of the Question Hour. As a result, the Speaker of the House had to adjourn the proceedings for an hour.
It happened so that when the State’s Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy was replying on the Potato Mission in the Assembly, the BJP members such as Rabi Nayak went upto the well of the House and demanded for the Question Hour suspension and a debate on farmer deaths. Nayak attempted to break the Speaker’s mike by standing on a chair near the reporters’ table prompting the Speaker who is Niranjan Pujari to adjourn the proceedings for one hour as the session could not carry on within a noisy situation.
