Bhawanipatna, April 13: Another case of farmer suicide happens on Wednesday at Golamunda area of Dharamgarh in Kalahandi District. It seems to be no end to the farmer suicide cases in the state.
The family members of Purna Chandra said that he took this extreme step due to severe crop loss and loan burden. He was rushed to Dharamgarh Hospital where he died today while undergoing treatment, sources said.
Family members also alleged that Purna Chandra had taken loans from local money lenders and faced huge crop loss for consecutive years . Finding no other option to repay the loan, he consumed pesticides.
