Bhubaneswar, Feb 01: On Saturday, the farmers, taking their rage to the roads, staged a massive hunger strike at different levels across Odisha opposing the governments’s move against the agitating farmers on Delhi border. The strike was organised by All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) an umbrella organisation of many farmer’s union.

The strike was organised by AIKSCC protesting against the centre’s three farm law. The sit-in was organised at lower PMG in Bhubaneswar and at different levels of State, district, block and Panchayat across the districts of Puri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Rayagada and others.

The state convenor of AIKSCC, Suresh Panigrahi on protesting against the central farm law on backing with farmers protesting on various Borders  across Delhi said,”we are holding satyagraha and dharnas round the states demanding for repealing of centre’s farm law with ensuring MSP to farmers on their agricultural products.

National convenor of Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS), Akshay Kumar also urged to the public to understand centre’s dirty trick. “We appeal the common people to understand the centre’s trick to defame the farmer movement. we also demand for  strict police investigation and sincere action for those, involved in violence on Republic Day in Delhi”, said Akshay Kumar.

“Farmers are protesting to protect themselves from exploitation in future. We will continue to protest despite government conspiracy to distract and divert farmer’s movement”. He added.
