Gandhinagar: August 6: Five Men and Three Women died as the fire broke out in the ICU ward of a COVID Hospital in Ahmedabad. 40 other patients have been shifted to the SVP Hospital in Ahmedabad. One of the paramedical worker is also badly affected from burns.
As reported, the incident happened at around 3 am on Thursday.
The ICU situated on the fourth floor of the ‘Shrey hospital’ .
The cause of fire is yet to be known, but the local police assumed that the fire broke out due to short circuit.
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has condoled the loss of lives due to fire at a hospital in Ahmedabad.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said,
“Saddened by the tragic hospital fire in Ahmedabad. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. Spoke to CM @vijayrupanibjp Ji and Mayor @ibijalpatel Ji regarding the situation. Administration is providing all possible assistance to the affected.”
