Bolangir, Mar 24: Yesterday afternoon a firing was reported at a liquor shop in Gandhinagar Pada in the district, in which a youth was injured. Identified as Santosh Sahu, the youth, who was a salesman at the liquor shop, sustained bullet injuries on his stomach. Immediately he was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here but as his condition worsened, he was shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla. Although the reason behind the firing is yet to be ascertained, the cops are investigating into the matter.
Notably, the incident took place after three youth arrived to buy liquor at the foreign liquor shop. After a quarrel on some issue emerged, the firing took place in which the liquor shop staff was injured along with one of the three accused, identified as Jitu Mishra was also injured. Two others have been held by the police for interrogation.
