Bhubaneswar: In an ongoing battle between West Bengal and Odisha over origin of Rasagola, the first committee meeting formed by the Odisha government will take place today here.
The government has formed three committees to counter neighbouring state West Bengal’s claim that the delicious sweet belongs to Bengal.
The first committee that comprises 7 members will submit the facts about the origin of rasagola. The second comprises 4 members. That will study under which ground WB government claims it as its origin. The third panel comprising 6 members will take necessary steps before the Centre to stake claim for patent of the delicacy.
