Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the Regulated Market Committees (RMC) to share 2% of its profit from paddy procurement with Panchayats and Municipal bodies for infrastructure development.

With such decision, the gram panchayats and urban civil bodies will get around Rs 50 crore per annum.

The move is as per the manifesto of BJD during assembly elections last year.
