First Formal bilateral meet between India and Pakistan after Pathankot Issue today:

New Delhi: April 26: Indian foreign secretary S Jaishankar and his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry met in New Delhi on Tuesday, which is the the first high-level contact between the two sides after the Pathankot  incident.

On the eve of the meeting, Indian officials maintained that, Pathankot attack and a visit by NIA to Pakistan will be the main content of discussion during Foreign Secretary level talks.

Pakistan Foreign Secretary is here at Delhi for a meeting of the Heart of Asia grouping on Tuesday afternoon. Chaudhry is leading the Pakistani delegation to the meeting to discuss the security situation and reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to Lahore on December 25 to meet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif after a visit to Kabul had given a boost to peace process, but again the process got derailed after the attack on Pathankot Airbase, which India blamed on Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Before his arrival  in New Delhi on Tuesday morning, Chaudhry said Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India, including Kashmir, through talks.
