Football lovers disappointed as Messi announces his retirement

Bhubaneswar: June 27: The residents of Odisha especially the football lovers comprising of the youth and the die-hard fans of the famous footballer Lionel Messi experienced a moment of heartbreak on hearing his retirement from his International Football Career.

Even though the monsoon brought in moments of joy and happiness for the youngsters at the same time the retirement news of this well-known player brought in moments of sadness and even tears in the eyes of some.

The citizens who were acquainted with the television dedicatedly to watch every match of the player’s remarkable journey as a footballer are extremely in distraught and are even saying that there is nothing left to watch on TV. Mohammad Gausul Reza, an all-time fan of Lionel Messi working in Infosys, Bhubaneswar as a software engineer disheartened reported to Report Odisha, “I was a regular watchdog of Messi’s matches and kept a track of all his performances. It’s sheer luck that couple of matches has not proved to be fruitful for him but he would always in the hearts of every football lover and his kicks and goals will always be followed and he will always be remembered.” IT Engineer, Pratik Mishra said, “I follow every match of Lionel Messi and he just creates magic on the ground with his wonderful kicks. Unfortunately he could not prove himself in these consecutive matches but just because of this one should not forget his past success.”Mass Communication final year student, Niharika Mohanty expressed saying, “I am a great fan of Lionel Messi. He has a great personality and also his approach towards every game is unique. It’s disheartening on hearing about his retirement. According to me he should not have taken the decision that too on an official note. Misfortune happens with everyone but Fortune also shows its side sometimes.”“With good looks and wonderful personality he is counted as the one of the best footballer among world’s most top foot ball players. His shots are like rocket and tricky and sometimes unbelievable. Argentina is surely going to lose a great player after his retirement”, informed Birendra Gouda, employee of Seneva IT Solutions. Another school going student of Delhi Public School, Sheikh Miran expressing his sadness said, “I am a die-hard fan of Messi and would miss and his moves on the ground. According to me this is not the right time for him to take the decision of retirement after all he’s just 29 so what if he could not play well this time there are chances.”

Losing against Chile horribly in the Copa America Finale, disheartened Argentina World Class Football player, Lionel Messi sensationally announced his retirement from International football. The grief-stricken Barcelona marvelous footballer was ashamed after having missed a spot-kick on Sunday which resulted in Chile projecting out as the winner in a penalty shoot out. The more tormented fact is that this succumbed to Messi’s fourth straight loss in a major final while representing Argentina.

He informed the media that the national  Argentina team for him is finished and he’s done all he could do for his team at both national and international levels and even after so much of efforts it’s sad not to be a champion. Even though having an overwhelmed reigning career where he’s come out as the FIFA World Player of the Year on not less than five occasions, Messi has been facing continuous criticism from critics in his country. In spite of this he received support from Chile’s victorious Argentine coach Juan Antonio Pizzi, who maintained the fact that Messi deserves to be regarded as the best ever.
