Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Taking steps towards to ameliorate state’s healthcare service and neutralize the problem of shortfall of doctors, 363 doctors has been distributed with appointment letters by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a workshop at the Jaydev Bhavan, here.
Health services being the main highlight of the state government, special attention has been given to fill up the vacant doctors post, mainly in remote areas, Patnaik stated while addressing to the media. Adding to this he also informed that apart from this more 800 doctors will be appointed soon.
The appointment has been made based on the shortage of doctors in particular areas after consulting with the Collectors there, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Health Minister said. The long run gap i.e., demand and supply of doctor will be over through this and the doctors who have been newly recruited will be posted in rural areas, he further added.
The chief minister added the fact that seven more government medical colleges will be established in the State.
