Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: A dog is man’s best friend everyone likes to cuddle a well-behaved and happy dog who does not mess up the entire living room? Thus, keeping this in mind, Orissa Kennel Club in association with Obedience & Agility Club conducted a Canine Good Citizen workshop here. In order to promote responsible pet ownership, this was an attempt by the Kennel Club of India to help owners of canines to modify the behaviour of their pets and handle them in public places.

The dog owners and their pets underwent various training exercises together, which would continue for a period of one month. At the end of this training period, all the participating dogs will undergo a final test, passing which they will be rewarded with a Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Trainer C.R. Patnaik of Cuttack and Prakash Butt of Commando Kennels in Hyderabad conducted these exercises at the Kishor Club grounds in Unit I area of Bhubaneswar on Sunday, August 28 from 7 am onwards. This cost-free programme was opened to all dog owners and all breeds of dogs: purebred, mix breeds, mongrels, registered and unregistered.
