Sundergarh: More than 3 tons of the looted explosive recovered

Rourkela: In the loot case of 4 tons of explosives by Maoists in Sundargarh district of Odisha earlier this week, a big development has been achieved. More than 3 tons of the explosives has been recovered, informed Brijesh Rai, DIGP, Western Range.

As per reports, following exchange of fire (EoF) between the security personnel and Maoists today more than 3 tons of the 4 tons looted explosives has been recovered.

By the time this report was written, exchange of fire between the security personnel and the ultras were going on.

Further, it has been learnt that as of now gunfight is going on between between CRPF and DVF jawans against the Maoists in the forest on the Jharkhand and Odisha border.

It is to be noted that around 4 tons of explosives had been looted from the Bonai area in Sundergarh district of Odisha on last Tuesday. The explosives, meant for a mining project, were being transported when they were seized by the ultras. While exchange of fire going on between security personnel and Maoists in the Saranda forest of Tiriliposhi on the Odisha-Jharkhand border, on jawan has been injured.

Due to IED explosion, one jawan critically injured. Reportedly, arrangements are underway for AIR LIFT of the jawan to Ranchi. It is to be noted that the looted explosives have been seized from this forest.
