Bhubaneswar, July 29; Motilal Gouda, the main accused in the fake gazette scam, claimed that he was being targeted by the two Ministers and is a victim of the rivalry between them. He demanded a Crime Branch and Vigilance investigation into the whole matter.
When Gouda was asked about his relationship with Himanshu Kar alias Happy, who is an employee of the Capital Hospital and is under the vigilance scanner in the case, he said that he only knows Kar as he stays near his quarters. But there has been no financial transaction worth even Re 1 between them. It is not his signature that the notification consists, which has been informed to the crime branch. Gouda has also given a sample signature to the crime branch for further probe into the matter.
Notably, Dr Gouda had been accused of issuing a fake Gazette Notification ordering an engagement of five private labs for employee’s health check-up in factories and industries. He also managed to sign a contract with NALCO, a Navaratana PSU company by issuing a fake notification of health checkup for NALCO’s staff at Gouda’s pathology laboratory and also in a move to sign another contract of Rs. 1.02 crore, but alas! was caught in red handed.
The state government suspended Motila Gouda including more 407 medical officers from government service for remaining absent for a long time period on duty. On Saturday CBI had also raided his residence and clinic in case of possession of disproportionate of assets.
