Govt Issues Show Cause Notice to OCA Over Disruption in Ind vs Eng Match

Bhubanswar: Odisha Government has served show cause notice to the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) for the disruption in match caused during the 2nd ODI between India and England due to light failure.

The Sports and Youth Services Department of Government of Odisha issued a show cause notice to OCA on Monday and said that — During the 2nd One Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and England on 9th February 2025 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, one flood light was off, and the match was disrupted. This incident led to about 30 minutes suspension of the match, causing inconvenience to players and spectators.

Accordingly, in the said show cause notice the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) was directed to submit a detailed explanation for the cause of the disruption and identify the persons/agencies who were responsible for such lapses and outline the measures taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The findings must be submitted within 10 days upon receipt of this letter, the letter issued by the Sports Director read.
