Kolkata, Nov 15: Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday hinted that the government may consider income bracket for consumers to avail LPG subsidy.
He said since the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the government has been able to save Rs 15,000 crore in the last financial year.
The Minister said that as many as three crore duplicate LPG connections have since been terminated, which had led to this savings.
The minister also said the government was planning to include kerosene in line with LPG for targeting the subsidies effectively.
