Bhubaneswar, April 25 : The Supreme Court has turned down the interim bail plea of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Ramchandra Hansda, who is lodged in jail for his involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam in the State.
Notably, the MP was arrested on September 4 in 2014 for his involvement with Nabadiganta Capital Services Ltd, a chit fund firm being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The investigating agency had seized Rs 28 lakh from Hansda – one of the founder directors of Nabadiganta – during raids.
Orissa High Court had rejected the interim bail petition of Hansda on March 28 earlier.
