Health Minister to visit Parala Maharaja in Chennai today

Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Health Minister will visit Chennai on Thursday, after the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday had announced that the State government would bear all medical expenses of the Parala Maharaja Gajapati Narayan Deb, who has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for treatment and had directed the Health Minister to visit Chennai and enquire about the health condition of the Maharaja.

Meanwhile, the hunger strike of local legislator K. Suriya Rao and BJP president G Rabhana and three others, who had gathered at the Parala palace demanding immediate arrest of the manager of Maharaja’s Pratisthana Ananga Manjari Patra and her two brothers on charges of neglecting the Maharaja’s health condition to corner the king’s properties, was called off last evening after a discussion with the Gajapati district administration.

The manager of the Maharaja and her brother and Personal Assistant of the king Sanjay Patra resigned from their posts on Wednesday.

Notably, the treatment of the seriously ill Maharaja is going on in Chennai in the presence of his family members.
