Heavy crop loss leads to a farmer allegedly committing suicide in Nuapada, Odisha

Nuapada, Oct 23: A farmer identified as Santosh Meher (43) of Bhuliasikuan village under Khadiala block in the Nuapada district allegedly committed suicide on Sunday due to crop loss.

As per sources, due to untimely rain, Meher suffered from heavy crop loss which he had grown in 12 acres of land.

However, his family members alleged that following the crop loss, he took this extreme step by consuming pesticides under severe mental stress.
