Hi-Tech Group Chairman deposited 13.5 cr:

Bhubaneswar, April 22 : Now, Hi-Tech Group Chairman Tirupati Panigrahi’s bail will remain intact as because he has paid the last part of 63.5 cr today, which was asked by the Supreme Court to deposit with the SC treasury to avoid possible rejection of his conditional bail.

Notably, Tirupati Panigrahi was arrested by Crime Branch on charges of land fraud in 2012.

On March 18, the apex court had asked Panigrahi to deposit the amount of 63.5 cr within 4 weeks, failing which it had said to cancel his conditional bail. Panigrahi earlier deposited Rs.50 cr and rest 13.5 cr he deposited today. The Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the State Crime Branch had arrested Tirupati on December 25, 2012 for duping around 17,000 people to the tune of over Rs 315 crore on the promise of providing them residential plots.

The amout will be refunded to the duped land buyers.
