Jeypore, Jan 16: In a tragic mishap a home guard from Jeypore town In Koraput, Odisha who was attacked by miscreants on Friday, sustaining critical injuries, died early today while he was being transported to a Bhubaneswar based hospital.
Identified as Basant Patra, the deceased passed away on way while he was being shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Notably, some miscreants attacked Patra on Friday night while he was on duty here. He was later recued in a critical condition and admitted to the local hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to AIIMS, but unfortunately, he took his last breath on the way to the hospital near Berhampur.
