New Delhi: Country’s premier institutes IITs are mulling to go back its old format “single entrance test” for selecting candidates.
The JEE Apex Board has decided to set up a committee that will consider the proposal before placing it in the IIT senate.
The proposal for going back to the old format came as the existing two-tier format appears to be time consuming and it involves lots of resources in the conducting the test.
The two-tier format was introduced by the then Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in 2012 to change the examination system.
