IMD Issues Rain & Fog Warnings

Bhubaneswar: The regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued rain and fog warnings for different districts of Odisha.

As predicted by the weather department, shallow to moderate fog is likely to prevail in different districts of the State from 8.30 AM of February 7 to 8.30 AM of February 9, while very light rain is likely to occur at different places during the next 24 hours.

Day-1: (Valid upto 8.30 AM of 07.02.2025):

  • Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Khurda. Yellow Warning has been issued for the same.
  • Likewise, shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places in the early morning hours over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Cuttack and at one or two places over the districts of Puri and Nayagarh.

Day-2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 07.02.2025 to 8.30 AM of 08.02.2025):

  • The IMD also issued a yellow warning saying dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khurda .
  • Similarly, shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places in the early morning hours over the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda and Cuttack and at one or two places over the district of Puri, Gajapati, Khurda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Day-3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 08.02.2025 to 8.30 AM of 09.02.2025):

  • Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri and Cuttack.

Very light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangapur and Koraput and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, forecasted the weatherman.

While informing about the temperature, the IMD said that no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) will take place in the next 24 hours and it is very likely to fall by 2-4 oC during next 3 days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
