IMD Issues Rain Warning For Next 2 Days

Bhubaneswar: The rain in Odisha is likely to continue for the next two days. The IMD said that as a result of the trough lines from South Gangetic West Bengal to the coast of Andhra Pradesh the rainfall is seen. It further issued a yellow warning alert to 7 districts for the next 24 hours for light to moderate rains.

The wind will flow at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal and Kendrapara with thunderstorms. Similarly in 10 districts of Odisha, the rainfall can be witnessed.

Wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph and rain in parts of 12 districts in Odisha can be experienced, the IMD said while issuing a yellow warning to these districts.

Lightning and thunderstorms with wind speed of 50 to 60 kmph can be seen in the four districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Keonjhar and with an orange warning. On the other hand, the districts of Gajapati and Ganjam have been issued yellow warning for lightning and thunderstorms with wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph.

There will be no change in the weather in coming four to five days, predicted the regional center of Indian Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar.
