India’s COVID-19 count rises to 59,662; Death toll stands at 1981

Bhubaneswar: May 09: The total number of confirmed cases in India reached 59,662 on Saturday and the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 1981, as informed by Health Ministry.

The country registered an increase of 95 deaths and 3,320 cases in last 24 hours.

The number of active Covid-19 cases stood at 39,834 and 17,846 people have recovered. In last 24 hours, 1307 people have recovered.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit State with 19,063 cases, followed by Gujarat (7402), Delhi (6318), Tamilnadu (6009), Rajasthan (3579), Madhya Pradesh (3341) and   Uttar Pradesh (3214).
