Bhubaneswar, Mar 31: International author and an imminent novelist, Stephen King on the 29th of March tweeted about his upcoming novel ‘Sleeping Beauties’. He shared the cover of his new book along with the release date of the book that is on Sept 26, 2017 and the link of a small excerpt of the book.
‘Sleeping Beauties’ is a collaboration of Stephen with his son Owen Kin who is the author of ‘Double Feature’. It is co-written by Owen. The book was officially announced in Jun 2016. A synopsis of the book on Stephen’s official website reads: ‘In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep; they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place…The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease. Is Evie a medical anomaly to be studied? Or is she a demon who must be slain?’
On the other hand, the first trailer of the book adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic novel ‘It’ was also released by Warner Bros. Pictures on the same day. It is an American supernatural horror film, adaptated from Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name “It”. The horrid trailer of ‘It’ has got 8,987,556 views on YouTube in just 24 hours and is expected to hit the theatres on Sept 8, 2017.
