International Women’s Meet on Nonviolence and Peace: Women as Peace Makers

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: International Women’s Meet on Nonviolence and Peace is going to be organized in India from 2nd October to 4th Oct 2016. It is the first time in India that a women’s initiative on peace is taking place on this scale. This will hopefully open up the doors for sharing of experiential learning of nonviolent action with international and Indian peace activists. This Meet brings together the local and international, the peace makers and the academic, the Gandhian and the feminist, All of whom, are using nonviolence, in its broader sense of, being action-oriented, holistic and context specific. The dream is peaceful coexistence and therefore using nonviolent action is a critical step towards transforming society for Justice Peace and Equality.

The 2nd October 2016 will witness a walk for Peace & Gandhi from Station to Gandhi Park, Jalgaon Town, Maharashtra. 50 International women peace makers are coming to India from 35 countries to talk about local to global peace for the first time in Indian History. 50 grassroot women peace maker will be felicitated on 2nd Oct. Stories of these 100 women peace makers will be documented. Another 100 women social workers researchers, across the country are joining in this peace meet. There will be Exhibits on Women’s Work & Opportunities for meeting Award Winning Women

The Veteran Peace Messenger like P.V. Rajgopal, Justice Dharmadhikari, Krishnammal Jaganathan and many more are joining to support the cause. The matter was informed to ReportOdisha by the famour social activist, Rituparna Mohanty.
