Nabarangpur, Apr 4: Senior Congress leader and former MP Pradeep Majhi with his family members along with the family of former chairperson of the Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad, Manjula Majhi have been excluded from the Bhatra Samaj. The society took this decision at a meeting held at the Bhatra Rajbhavan in Nabarangpur as girls from both the families got married outside their castes. Thus, Pradeep Mahji’s father, former MP Bhagwan Majhi has also been removed from the president’s post of the central committee of the Bhatra Samaj. To this, Majula stated to the media that when the girls got married, nobody had any issue but all of a sudden on Sunday, this happened and while this decision was being taken, none of the family members were present. If anything as such takes place on the part of the Bhatra Samaj then the family would initiate a legal action. On the other hand, advisor of Bhatra Development Council, Diwakar Pujari stated that the family has been ostracised keeping in mind the future of the Samaj as the persons who were entrusted with power and responsibility in the Samaj have berated the people.
