IPL Auction: Franchises Gear Up For Mega Auction Of Players

IPL 2022 Mega Auction of Players is nearing fast.

10 franchises, 600 players and 217 possible slots up for grabs. The bidding wars are just around the corner and the excitement is reaching its peak as we gear up for the action-packed two days of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Player Auction in Bengaluru.

From Team India superstars and the future India greats to some of the brightest bigwigs of world cricket will go under the hammer. So, mark your calendars, grab some popcorn, if you like and brace yourself for the thrilling mega-auction!

A total of 590 players will take part in the Mega Auction this year. Out of 590, 370 are Indian cricketers and 220 are foreigners.

A team must have minimum of 18 players and can keep maximum of 25 players as allowed.  is allowed in a single IPL Team. This 25 players list includes both capped and uncapped players. This will be followed for IPL 2022 mega auction rules. Although BCCI can change this rule till now it is the same rule.

As decided, there are eight categories in the auction price base. Those are 2 crores, 1.5 crores, one crore, 75 lakhs, 50,40,30 & 20 lakhs.

From a total auction purse of Rs 900 cr, of which Rs 384.5 cr has been spent by franchises already in retaining cricketers or drafting them in.

As per the data, Chennai Super Kings has balance amount of  Rs.48,00,00,000 to spend for players, followed by Delhi Capitals Rs. 47,50,00,000; Gujarat Titans Rs.52,00,00,000; Kolkata Night Riders 48,00,00,000; Lucknow Super Giants 59,00,00,000; Mumbai Indians 48,00,00,000; Punjab Kings 72,00,00,000; Rajasthan Royals 62,00,00,000; Royal Challengers Bangalore 57,00,00,000 And Sunrisers Hyderabad 68,00,00,000.
