Irate locals ransack liquor shop in Nuapada

Nuapada, Apr 2: A day after liquor shops on National highways and state highways shutdown after a notification from supreme court, with the view of increasing anti-social activities, and growing alcohol culture in youth, the irate locals of Nuapada today ransacked a liquor shop and set it on fire.

As of sources, the Foreign liquor shop of Nuapada and a local liquor joint was ransacked by the irate locals.

After informed, the local police reached the spot, and soon two platoons of police were deployed in area to keep the situation under control.

Notably, the locals of the area had earlier lodged a complaint demanding the urgent closure of the units, but though no action was taken by the district admin, the locals took the law in hand.
