Puri Shree Jagannath Temple Administration approves Rs 190 crore annual budget

Cuttack, Sept 14: The repairing of the hall facing the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Jagannath Temple will be completed by June, 2017. This was written in an affidavit filed by Archeological Survey of India (ASI) at Orissa High Court today.

The ASI had written in the affidavit that it will anyhow complete the repair of the pillars by November this year and by April, 2017 it will finish the pocket framing work.

Notably, the Orissa HC had ordered the ASI authorities of the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Puri collector to file an affidavit stating the complete status of the ongoing repair and restoration work of Jagamohan inside the Shri Jagannath temple. The directive was issued by the court during a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) hearing on this ongoing matter.
