Jaipur holds first ever bird race

Jaipur, Dec 27: First Jaipur Bird Race is held today in and around the city where teams of bird-watchers will spend the entire day birding and covering every bird-watching site.

This is the first time that such an event is being held in Jaipur where more than 360 species of birds have been recorded over the years in and around the city that encompasses broad range of habitats, from Aravalli–Shekhawati

landscapes to agricultural tracts, urban parks and gardens, inland wetlands. There are no pre-determined routes in the event and participants can watch birds in multiple locations, all within 30-50 km radius of the city to try see as many species as can be possible.

The participants will try to record as many species of birds as possible and learn about the finer points of bird-watching from the experts and the experienced.

Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) and Yuhina Eco-Media along with Delhi’s birding enthusiasts are organising the event.
