Japanese Encephalitis: Malkangiri CDMO suspends two health workers for duty negligence

Malkangiri, Oct 9: Today the Malkangiri Chief District Officer (CDMO), Udaya Shankar Mishra suspended two health workers due negligence in duty when children were admitted in hospitals suffering from Japanese Encephalitis. The two suspended health workers are Subal Charan Mistry and Biswanath Patra. The two were working at Palkonda and Badli nodal centres respectively. Today Joint Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department, Ajit Mishra and Director of Public Health Department, Dr Kailash Chandra Das made a visit to the district headquarters hospital here to check the situation.

A team of nine doctors including four pediatricians and one anesthesiologist were been sent to the affected areas for treating the affected children. While three teams are camping at the district headquarters hospital, another group has been sent to the Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC).
