Japanese Encephalitis: Two more death reported taking the toll to 40 in 29 days in Malkangiri, Odisha

Malkangiri, Oct 7: In another death case happening due to Japanese Encephalitis, two more children undergoing treatment died on Thursday late night at the district headquarters hospital. Adding these two deaths, the toll has been increased to 40 in 29 days.

Showing concern on this serious matter, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union petroleum minister met with JP Nadda, Union Health Minister on Thursday.  The Japanese Encephalitis death situation has being very critical in Malkangiri. All facilities and support will be provided to the state government, Pradhan said to media persons.

Centre has asked the state government to provide detailed report regarding the Japanese Encephalitis situation and is ready to forward all kind of help to state government, informed JP Nadda. Further adding he informed that, Centre is likely to send an expert team to Odisha for the analysis of the situation.

The State Health Minister, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak informing about the current report on Japanese Encephalitis said that, more than 25 children have been cured out of 105 identified and proper steps are been taken by the state government to prohibit the disease from spreading to other areas and also priority is been given to proper cleanliness of the village environment and immediate treatment to the affected children.
