Joint review meet of officers of School and Mass Education in Odisha capital to impart quality education

Bhubaneswar, May 30: Yesterday a state-level workshop and joint review meeting of Field Functionaries & Officers of School and Mass Education was organised at the IDCOL Auditorium here. School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patro preside over the meet and said that private schools in Odisha are ahead of the government-run schools in quality education. Quality education is to be imparted to students as this enhances nation building. The BEOs (block education officers) and DEOs (district education officers) have a significant role in it. Also, inspections of schools are is be to carried out and each school to be inspected in a month and report will be submitted accordingly. Distribution of text book, mid day meal, teachers’ and students’ attendance in schools will also be taken care off. He further stated that the literacy rate in Odisha increased to 72.87 percent in 2011 which is higher than the national average. And the Net Enrolment Ratio (NER) in primary education is 88.47% while the Dropout rate came down to 4.68% in 2016-17.
