Phulbani, July 18: Inspection by the special investigating team (SIT) into the hazardous killing in Malapanga forest near Kurtamgarh in Kandhamal district of five innocent villagers during an alleged anti-Maoist operation will begin today.
Sources reveal that the team of six formed by the State Police has already reached at Baliguda for starting the enquiry.
Mahendra Pratap, ADG, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC), arrived at the district police headquarters yesterday afternoon and held a meeting with Kandhamal SP, Pinak Mishra.
The team will visit Baliguda in order to get detailed information about the happening from the IIC. Alongside, the team is also supposed to talk to the Special Operations Group (SOG) which had been involved in the operation on July 8.
