Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: Today the Odisha BJP Vice President Samir Mohanty smashed the state government over the kerosene quota issue. It alleged that the kerosene provided to the state taken away in the middle and the money acquired from it warms the pockets of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Das Burma and BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb. Mohanty stated to media that 2.93 lakh kilo litre of kerosene had been provided to Odisha in 2016 but this year only 2.48 lakh kilo litre of kerosene will be provided. There has been a decrease in the kerosene quota as there are reports that the state government has increased the gas and electricity connection. He stated that the government must make note of the amount of kerosene not used by the people and also it should note the names of kerosene users in every panchayat, block, town, municipality or NAC.

BJD Vice President Surya Narayan Patro replying to the allegation of Mohanty said that as the Centre provide kerosene, such a say, that the amount of kerosene is being siphoned off can only be said by the Union Minister. He said that all this information can be got from the Supplies department or Central Government. The minister is only capable to give the details about the kerosene shortage and steps taken by the government.
