Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: It’s suspected that a Canadian national has been kidnapped from the Sukma forest located in Chhattisgarh bordering Malkangiri of Odisha. It so happened that the Canadian national name John went on a bike ride into the forest. He had come to Chhattisgarh on Mar 14 from Mumbai. The cops have launched a massive manhunt to trace his whereabouts, also the travel agency of John is being interrogated. On the other hand, Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj has asked for a report from the Odisha government after she got to know about the incident on Twitter where a Balasore resident had tweeted about the incident saying that a foreigner has been kidnapped from Koraput in Odisha. To which, Swaraj tweeted,
“We are seized of the matter. I have asked for a report from Government of Odisha. I have spoken to Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister reg the reported abduction of a Canadian national in Koraput district of Odisha”.
