KiiT International School Model United Nations Inaugurated

Bhubaneswar: August 10: Seventh KiiT International School Model United Nations (MUN) was inaugurated on August 10, 2018. Students from various schools of the country and abroad, representing the member countries of UN, will discuss and debate on burning issues of the world during the three-day submit from August 10 – 12.

 Addressing the inaugural session, Smt. Saswati Bal, President, KIIT & KISS said, Model United Nations develops statesmanship and leadership qualities among the students. Students get opportunity to know the various issues of the world and the member countries of the UN and how to solve the global problems through mutual understanding, harmony and peace among them, she added.  

 The student representatives will discuss various issues relating to world peace, global warming, human rights, International Court of Justice, etc. They will also get opportunity to know the working of various UN agencies. Over 500 student delegates from 50 schools across India are attending. Besides, student delegates from five countries have also joined the MUN.

 Among others, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, Chairperson, KiiT International School; Dr. Sanjay Suar, Principal and Ms. Nandita Mishra spoke at the inaugural ceremony.

 Mr. Sergio Darío Arispe Barrientos, H.E. Ambassador of Bolivia to India; Mr. Juan José Cortez Rojas, Counsellor and Mr. Ariel Andrade Galindo, H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to India will grace the valedictory session of the KiiT-IS MUN on 12th August.
