Bhubaneswar,Nov 13: Lawyers across the eastern Indian Odisha State are ceasing work indefinitely from today to protest the recent murder of a colleague in Boudh district of the State.
Hemant Sahu, a lawyer in Boudh, was brutally killed by some unidentified miscreants on Tuesday.
The cease work decision was taken at the High Court Bar Association on Thursday.
Sources said court proceedings have been affected in Cuttack as the High Court due to lawyers stir.
The Bhubaneswar Bar Association has also joined hands with the striking lawyers supporting their demand to arrest the culprit.
Police suspected longstanding dispute between the relatives of the deceased over property might be the cause of the incident.
