Cuttack: November 14: The lawyers shall resume their work from tomorrow. The Orissa High Court Bar Association on Wednesday called off the stir and decided to withdraw the 78-days long cease-work strike.
According to sources, two Police constables B K Samal, U K Bhuyan and Havildar P K Behera, who had allegedly attacked lawyer Debi Prasad Patnaik, sought an unconditional apology before the Orissa High Court. It is to be noted, Patnaik had an argument with Police in connection with an accident happened at Nuabazar in Cuttack on August 28 and further, and Policemen had allegedly beaten him.
After hearing a petition filed by lawyer Patnaik, bench of Justice Chittaranjan Das directed Police to prepare a guideline in this regard to avoid such incidence in future.
